To date, The Tea Party Republican Congress has tried to derail The Affordable Care Act (aka Obama Care) by shutting down the government. They have vetoed or put obstacles in the way of every nominee the President has put forward. They have vetoed or put obstacles in the way of every program the President want to implement. We must stop the run-away “Congress of No” by letting them know that we have had enough. We the people stand with President Obama.

We do not support the annexation of the woodland acres from the County to the City. Further, we do not want the City to take control from the County the entry into Mission Canyon from the bridge to Puesta del Sol or an Easement for Las Encinas Road annexed to the City.

Crosswalk warning lights must be installed at Mission and Van Ness Ave. in Santa Cruz to protect our kids and residents. Palo Alto Medical Foundation is opening a new medical center, including pediatrics. The crosswalk at this location is a death trap without better marking and warning lights or a traffic signal.

Your agency’s policy, as outlined in the June 17 prosecutorial discretion memo, states that people “pursuing legitimate civil rights complaints” should not be targeted in order “to avoid deterring individuals from … pursuing actions to protect their civil rights.” But, the Southern regional ICE office in New Orleans refuses to implement the policy and continues to pursue the deportation of the Southern 32. Please, stop deporting labor and civil rights defenders! You must stand up and tell your agents to stop ignoring this important policy. We demand that ICE: 1) Release the Southern 32 from all threats of deportation 2) Implement the civil, labor, and human rights provisions of its prosecutorial discretion policy; and 3) Ensure no future civil or labor rights defender is deported because he or she stood up for the rights of all of us!
