Nearly 13% of Michigan residents don't have health insurance, including many children. Michigan lawmakers have an opportunity to accept new funds from the federal government to expand the state's Medicaid program and help nearly 350,000 Michiganders. Please accept these funds and help make a difference for 350,000 people in our state.

The Michigan legislature, in 2007, passed a new law raising the standards for ASL interpreters in Michigan. Now, the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) needs to review and approve them before the end of the legislative session, which is June 13th, the last day that both the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives are in session, for sure. If the Rules are not passed by June 13, 2013, the DODHH will have to start all over again come fall. Tell JCAR members to do their jobs and review the Rules appropriately before the end of this year's legislative session! Support the Deaf Community in Michigan!!

There should be a maximum of 18 years for members of congress. 18 years of time in the Congress or Senate in any combination of service. Members should be forced to live with / under the ramifications of the legislation they vote on as private citizens during their lifetime. That way they would consider the true effects of things they vote on.

We petition the FCC and Congress, and even ultimenly President Obama to stop any further consildation of media outlets in markets. Keep the laws against that practice in place.
