Congress, in its unwillingness to compromise on a budget, has unnecessarily shut down the government. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees will be unpaid throughout the shutdown. Members of Congress should do the decent thing and forgo their wages for the same period. Our elected representatives at every level are voted in to represent us and our interests. Without a forfeit of wages, the officials making these decisions prove further that they are out of touch with the common citizen. The rash decision to shut down the government is damaging our already fragile economic recovery. The forfeiture of pay is the least they can do to prove they are sincere in their efforts to provide a government worthy of our citizens.

It requires reminding voters that for two years the tea party has been commanding Romney to jump and Mr. Flip-and-Flop has invariably squeaked "How high?" Romney lied when he denied knowing of a tax law that enables corporations to share with American workers the cost of shipping their jobs overseas. If President Obama fails again as he did in the first debate, we will get a new generation of Scalias and neocon wars. Act like a President, sir, not Mr. Nice Guy law professor!

Ohio's Estate Tax currently provides needed revenues to local governments and should be renewed when it expires at the end of this year (2012). All estates of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 should be taxed at the rate of five (5) percent. All estates above $5,000,000 should be taxed at the rate of eight (8) percent. All estates under $1,000,000 will be exempt from payment of this tax.

Don't let these kids slip through the system unchecked. This is the time for someone to intervene.
