  • T-Mobile Drop Corey Lewandowski
Corey Lewandowski refused to apologize Wednesday after he dismissed the story of a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was reportedly separated from her mother after crossing the border illegally. While appearing on Fox News, former senior Democratic National Committee adviser Zac Petkanas shared an anecdote about "a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome" who had been "taken from her mother and put in a cage." "Womp womp," the former Trump campaign manager responded.

  • STOP Cobb County Residential Construction Noise!
Nobody wanted it except the real estate investors yet almost every day our homes shake from the construction. None of the commissioners who let this happen would allow this to happen in their back yard so why are they letting this happen to us?

  • Tell the EPA: Say NO to releasing GMO mosquitoes in Florida and Texas!
I urge the Environmental Protection Agency to reject Oxitec’s application to release millions of genetically engineered mosquitoes in Florida, Texas or anywhere in the U.S. (EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0756-0001). This experiment would put our health and environment at risk and may impact Florida and Texas’ economies, both of which depend on tourism. While limiting mosquito populations and the spread of mosquito-borne disease is important, this experiment is risky for our environment and public health and is fraught with many unanswered and critical questions. We request that the EPA reject Oxitec’s application for genetically engineered mosquitoes and: • Because this is the first genetically engineered insect to be reviewed as a pesticide, the EPA must reveal its analysis of the environmental, health and social impacts of Oxitec’s GMO mosquito release proposal; • Have a committee of independent ecologists and entomologists, public health experts (including dengue fever and Zika virus specialists), and other key experts and public stakeholders review the proposal from Oxitec; • Convene public meetings in Monroe County, FL (the Florida Keys) and Harris County, Texas, advertised in the Federal Register, for the review of the company’s proposal with the above committee present; and • Develop new regulations for genetically engineered insects designed to be bio-pesticides -- only after these regulations are in place should EPA consider an application for GE insects. Our government agencies must not rely only on data from the companies that would profit from genetically engineered organisms to decide what information the public and regulators should know. Until the above requests are met, the application for the field release of genetically engineered mosquitoes must not be allowed to move forward. Sincerely,

  • Tell the Department of Justice to stop the Bayer-Monsanto merger!
To Whom It May Concern in the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, I’m very alarmed by the proposed Bayer-Monsanto merger. This merger threatens the future of innovation in our food system, compromises our food security and endangers farmers, workers and consumers. The mergers threaten to significantly reduce farmer choice and quality of seeds and increase their prices. This merger is poised to significantly alter our food and farming system and I urge the Department of Justice to stop this merger from moving forward. Just this week a new survey and white paper were released that demonstrate widespread opposition from farmers to this merger. According to the poll, of the farmers who responded: • 93.7 percent are concerned about the proposed merger of Bayer and Monsanto (82.8 percent are very concerned/10.9 percent somewhat concerned); • 93.7 percent of farmers are concerned that the proposed Bayer-Monsanto merger will negatively impact independent farmers and farming communities (83.9 percent are very concerned/9.8 percent somewhat concerned). Farmers were overwhelmingly concerned that the merged company will use its dominance in one product to push sales of other products, that Bayer/Monsanto will control data about farm practices and that the merger will result in increased pressure for chemically dependent farming. Plus, farmers are concerned that the merger will increase prices and diminish quality, choice and seed varieties including availability of regionally adaptive seed, which farmers identified as critical given increasing climate variability. Further, the evidence is clear that any of Bayer’s proposed divestiture and behavioral remedies will not solve farmer and consumer concerns. The only answer to this merger is for the Department of Justice to reject it. If Bayer and Monsanto are allowed to merge, the resulting company would be the world’s largest vegetable seed producer with a near monopoly on the broccoli, carrot and onion seed markets. It would be the world’s largest cotton seed company, owning seed for about 70% of all the cotton grown in the U.S. It would also be the largest manufacturer and seller of herbicides as well as the world’s largest owner of the intellectual property and patents for herbicide-tolerant seed traits. Polling shows that Americans share farmers’ concerns. A poll found that 9 in 10 Americans have serious concerns about the Bayer+Monsanto merger due to impacts on jobs, food safety, and independent farmers. It is clear from the poll that Americans want their elected officials to counter the move toward corporate monopolies. The poll found 90% of Americans, including 92% of Trump voters, believe that the Trump Administration should take a more aggressive stance towards corporate monopolies. I urge you to add this farmer survey and white paper to documents in your investigation and stop this merger from moving forward. The only answer to this merger is NO. Sincerely,
