I strongly urge the United States Forest Service, in its five-year review of the forest plan, to begin a plan amendment redirecting management of the Tongass National Forest to achieve a rapid reduction in old-growth logging, as promised in USDA's May 2010 transition goal. The agency should shift management toward sustainable economic development such as forest restoration, tourism, recreation, and fisheries. I also urge the agency to uphold and strengthen the Tongass forest plan's conservation strategy, which is vital to ensuring the sustainability and viability of fish and wildlife populations. The existing conservation strategy has not been sufficient to prevent loss of habitat that may push rare wildlife species toward listing on the endangered species list. It must be strengthened, not weakened.

Dear Elected Official: I am writing you today because I am deeply concerned that the Environmental Protection Agency has cavalierly approved a pesticide called sulfoxaflor which is toxic to bees. We know how fragile our bee population is at present, and from what I've learned, we seem to be at a point of crisis in this matter. Bees are responsible for pollinating 70% of the world's crops. This pesticide assault is not merely against bees, but ultimately against humans. It's simple: if our crops do not get pollinated, humans will not survive. This pure and utter disregard on the part of the EPA to uphold its oath will not stand. We need a conscionable and vigilant organization to stand in defense of environmental interests. We need that to be the EPA. Please fight for what is right, and oppose those who choose to harm the bees, humans, and our environment as well as those who do not work to preserve the very things for which the EPA was, indeed, created. I thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States of America, Respectfully request your attention in paying a debt to humanity. It's well known to anyone that has lived in a large city in the last thirty years that the number of homeless people is constantly increasing. Due to the severe economic downturns, the habit of large corporations of moving their operations outside the country to find cheap labor, and other financial hardships hundreds and even thousands of people have become homeless here in the USA. As anyone that lives in a large city can verify, there are, in most of the large cities in the USA a variety of vacant and abandoned houses, factories, and warehouses that are serving no purpose and sitting empty. There is no reason that these vacant buildings could not be put to use housing the multitude of homeless Men, Women, and Children that are in danger of death by exposure every winter here in one of the richest, most enlightened countries in the world. We, the people of the United States hereby ask that the governing officials of the United States utilize Tax dollars that would be spent on less needed projects to purchase, and use these abandoned warehouses, and other large buildings to create havens of shelter and life to protect the lives of these people that have been victims of financial misfortune, and allow them the chance to begin to build their lives again.

Please Veto SB 435 and demand new legislation for continuing the Home Rule Pilot Program without gun amendments. The country is moving forward on the issue of gun safety, and we hope that you will follow Senator Manchin’s example and intervene on behalf of the citizens of West Virginia on this issue. We don’t want to be forced to allow guns to be trafficked around our children, we do not want the NRA to overturn local laws and call it autonomy, we do not want SB 435 as is. Please veto it and call for a special session to fix it.

University of California is now "selling" its admission process to the highest bidder. Qualified high school students are being rejected in favor of out-of-state and foreign candidates, while a portion of the budget is paid by the state government and our tax dollars. We need the Governor to stop this practice and make UCs available to all qualified Californians as a priority.

The State of GA has opted into the Common Core Standards but opted out of the corresponding tests, so our 9th grade students are taking the CCGPS Algebra I curriculum, but being tested on old standards that they are not being taught.
