Please join us in getting a bill passed to protect our voting rights. While it may not be perfect the bill introduced will begin the process of protecting the voters rights. Late last week, Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced new legislation—the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014—that would strengthen the Voting Rights Act. This bill isn't perfect but is the best vehicle we have for restoring the rights struck down by the Supreme Court last year.1

I encourage the U.S. Department of Agriculture to do a thorough environmental review of new genetically engineered seeds resistant to 2,4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) before deregulating these crops and allowing them to go to market without ANY government oversight. 2,4-D is a toxic herbicide associated with serious health risks. These GMO crops will also, like their predecessors, lead to much greater use of even more dangerous chemicals, the development of more herbicide-resistant weeds, destruction and genetic contamination of neighboring crops, and severe economic impacts on other farmers.

Transparency in funding gives the public the knowledge of who is profiting from gun ownership and Second Amendment activism. The agenda of too many is not whether or not our children and their teachers are safe and protected where they are most vulnerable. Rather, those with an agenda manipulate tragedies such as Sandy Hook for their own personal financial interest. Exposing where the dollars behind trendy headlines come from will assist those of us with level heads and common sense to prevail in the creation of new legislation, while preserving our Second Amendment rights in the spirit in which they were intended.

Trayon Christian, a 19-year-old Black engineering student from Queens, was arrested after purchasing a designer belt at Barneys New York, a luxury department store. With several forms of identification matching his debit card and his receipt in hand, Trayon was arrested, handcuffed, and locked in a jail cell by undercover NYPD officers. Apparently, he isn't the only one; close to 50 others have been arrested outside the same store. Enough is enough. Shopping while Black is not a crime. We urge the NYPD to conduct a full investigation into these arrests.

The closures and downsizing of institutions has resulted in the dislocation of many vulnerable individuals from residences in which they have lived for years and has also contributed to the lack of available options for families on waiting lists looking for services. Several facilities are slated to be closed in the future which would further reduce available services for families. As residents of New York State and concerned citizens, we oppose the elimination of vital Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities state services. Your efforts to undermine the diplomatic agreement that will prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons have won you the title of “Most Likely to Start a War.” Many of your constituents in New York are outraged by your decision. So we're adding our names to make sure you—and all the opposed and undecided Democrats in Congress—hear our pro-diplomacy, anti-war message.

Let's create The 28th Amendment to The Constitution without congressional approval. Pressure your state's Governor and legislature to ratify this new amendment through a constitutional convention, so that we can bypass Congress and finally experience what true equality means in America! I've created this one for the State of California. I implore someone from each of the other 49 states to cut and paste and do the same! If we get enough momentum, any legislator or Governor who ignores this petition or tries to deflect it, should not find a seat in the upcoming term!

We the residents of Turnersville in Washington Township, New Jersey, petition the Town Council and Mayor of Washington Township to make repairs to the street and homes on Nottingham Way. We want our drainage systems repaired. We want the groundwater pumped away. We want our street repaired. In that order. Until the street is repaired, we want school buses routed around our street and "No Thru Way" signs place on our streets and enforced. This will minimize the damage to the street, cars and our homes as well as for the safety of our kids on this street.

Our roaring disapproval of this abominable new voter protection law could be heard and seen around the world.
