  • Petition to reduce Clark County Commissioners Salaries
Reduce Clark County, WA commissioners salaries by 60 or more percent to help balance the Clark County 13 million dollar deficit. Many social services, education, road maintenance and community services are being hit badly. Community Centers are being hit heavily with budget cuts. Imagine $100,000 to be spent on revenue raising services which could provide an even greater source of income for the county. The county is overspending way too much. This money could be used for the interstate crossing campaigns to avoid a toll once the new bridge is built.

  • Soft Opening of Hair Salons
Allow a licensed beauty professional to perform a beauty service, privately with one client in the salon starting April 27th, 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitization protocols approved by the State of New York and the local Health departments and Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized and deemed as an essential business to better serve our community. Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask and gloves) poses little or no risk of spreading the virus, compared to large amounts of people in grocery stores or dozens of people picking up food from a restaurant.

  • AG Barr orders attack on protesters -- must be impeached
Attorney General Barr violently denied a group of Americans their First Amendment right to peacefully protest -- when he ordered police to attack them with tear gas, rubber bullets, and batons to make way for President Trump’s photo-op outside St. John’s Episcopal Church. Barr has repeatedly catered to Trump’s whims at the expense of the rule of law and the rights of the American people -- but this attack is a sickening new low. Congress must impeach Barr and remove him from office before he can do any more harm.

  • Chipotle: Don't penalize sick workers for staying home.
Chipotle workers report that they are risking their jobs by staying home from work if they're sick. While the company does offer paid sick leave, workers report being told by managers to work even when they're sick, and retaliating against those who call out sick. Chipotle needs to live up to its motto of "Food with Integrity" by following state laws (such as New York's Paid Sick Leave law) and implementing best practice policies nationwide to keep their employees, their customers, and the general public safe and healthy.

  • Postpone The Sage Colleges Commencement for Class of 2020
Colleges and universities around the Capital District of New York and the country have set the precedent of postponing commencement for the graduating class of 2020, rather than canceling all events. We, the graduates of The Sage Colleges, are entitled to an in-person commencement where we will be given the opportunity to walk across the stage with our peers at a later date when there is not a risk of COVID-19. We are calling upon President Christopher Ames and The Sage Colleges administration to do their part in honoring their undergraduate and graduate students by postponing in-person commencement ceremonies until a later date.

  • Stop DeSantis!
Tell President Biden and Congress to denounce DeSantis’s and Abbott’s actions, and end Trump's border policies for good! Florida governor Ron DeSantis may have committed human trafficking last week when he used taxpayer dollars to send migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Texas governor Greg Abbott has already pulled a similar move twice in the last six months, shipping migrants to DC and New York. President Biden and Congress must denounce these irresponsible (and potentially illegal) stunts — and recommit to pro-immigrant policies!

  • Rep Lee Zeldin needs to hold an open and accessible town hall
Newly elected Rep. Zeldin of New York recently cancelled a public town hall scheduled for April 2017 without explanation or intentions to reschedule it stating "liberal obstructionists" were the reason it was cancelled. False claims of harassment and violence at peaceful, respectful rallies are also being cited by his staff as reasons he now refuses to have a town hall. Rep Zeldin needs to hold an open and accessible town hall to hear the many voices and concerns of his constituents on various issues facing Long Island, NY and the country.

  • #FireZuck. Tell Facebook to fire Mark Zuckerberg NOW
It's time for Facebook to fire Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Time and time again, Mark Zuckerberg has chosen to let lies, hate and disinformation run rampant on the platform he founded. He's consistently put Facebook's profits ahead of truth, safety, health and democracy. One person—especially someone who has such poor judgement—should not have sole power to decide what social media content will reach billions of people. Facebook needs new leadership that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of its users and the global public. Truth matters.
