  • Limit Firearms Capacity To 10 Rounds in Rhode Island
    The General Assembly of Rhode Island for two years in a row has refused to allow a floor vote to limit the magazine capacity of firearms to 10 rounds. Why will our Legislators who limit the number of rounds to 5 for deer hunting and 3 for duck hunting in order to protect wildlife not limit firearms to 10 rounds to protect our children and our citizens? We the undersigned request a floor vote during the 2015 session.

  • Better Hospital Food
    People in the hospital, even those in mental hospitals, need nutritious food to help them recover from their illness. Processed foods and prepackaged foods have added salt, sugar and preservatives, and they are not nutritious. Therefore the patients should be provided with at least 5 fresh fruits and vegetables everyday as recommended by the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association. A healthy diet combined with daily physical activity is essential for this group of Americans.

  • Cuomo put LIPA privatization to a public vote
    We've gone down the road of having a public utility on Long Island already. IT DIDN'T WORK. what I would like is for you Mario Cuomo to do your job and fix the public run utility that we have. Freezing rates for 5 years is very shortsighted. In the long run we will all PAY MORE. please sign on to this petition to put privatizing LIPA to a public vote and let the public decide.

  • For the People
    If your legislator does not have a better idea, working for a compromise, or at least a honest/logical reason to vote against a bill for a solution then who is he/she working for? Are they always voting against a party bill/amendment for their own polictical reasons? Remember there are benefits to serving 5 years or more. Vote that sucker out! It'sasy to figure out who they are, they vote straight party ticket.........they are the ones who cower to the power and the money.

  • Healthier meals for incarcerated loved ones
    we all have had at least 1 family member, friend/loved one who has been incarcerated. they are grandparents, mothers, fathers and children and the way they are fed in jails and prisons is deplorable. they are human beings and need the 5 basic food groups that are recommended not all the sugar and starch just to meet the quota for 1,500-2,000 calories a day. please don't send them back home with diabetes and high cholesterol.

    Congress Priorities 1. Eliminate the debt limit permanently. 2. Raise taxes on incomes over $250.000 to 39.6%. 3. Approve at least $50 billion of infrastructure spending. 4. Place a cap of about $50,000 per family total of all misc. income tax deductions. 5. Remove the $110,000 cap on payroll social security taxes. 6. Raise capital gains taxes to ordinary income rates.
