Shoes on Feet not in Landfills

After donated shoes complete their life cycle at your Goodwill, most are shipped to pay-by-the-pound outlets. Except in many cases local Goodwill stores dump loose shoes into massive bins where most will never again find their original match. This renders conscientiously donated shoes unusable, committing them unnecessarily to a landfill.

Sign the petition and tell Goodwill CEO Steve Preston to instruct ALL stores to pair shoes with rubber bands prior to shipping them to their very last sales floor! Carelessly unmatched shoes makes thousands of thoughtfully donated pairs of footwear a TOTALLY avoidable burden to our planet.

Why is this important?

As a community member and a member of the online selling community, I and countless others have raised this issue to local Goodwill stores where we have been met without interest or response. Now I am asking for public support, when such a small act can make such a profound difference for generations to come.
