It started as a personal tragedy. A friend of mine tragically lost their life at Mermaids Lounge & Eatery in Spring Hill, FL on 08/17/24. It wasn't the only fatal incident to have occurred there. Enough is enough. We have felt first-hand the heartache of such a loss, and we do not want this pain for any others in our community. Mermaids Lounge & Eatery has unfortunately become a place synonymous with tragedy. The establishment has become a hub for numerous incidents leading to multiple deaths. These are not isolated events, and their recurrence points to an alarming trend of unsafe conditions that we believe are unacceptable and preventable. The safety of Spring Hill residents and visitors should be a paramount concern. We, the local community, therefore, implore the relevant authorities to investigate these incidents thoroughly and to consider our plea for the closure of Mermaids Lounge & Eatery.
