Social Security should not be an issue in the sequester negotiations.
Raise taxes on the wealthy. They have not paid their obligation to society for at least the past 40 years. Implement a highly progressive NET WORTH tax on the wealthy for as long as is necessary to recover that 40 years of lost revenue and build up a 100 trillion surplus fund.
Why is this important?
People were promised the benefits ACCORDING to the current CPI - not a watered down one.
People put their own money into the system and should not have it taken away.
There should be no Cap on the income to which the tax applies.
