As a senior citizen dependent on Social Security alone to live on upon my retirement in the near future, any cuts would seriously hurt my ability to pay for necessities of life.
Why is this important?
Regarding potential cuts to Social Security - there are many in this country, including myself, who have worked and scraped to get by, contributed our fair share to Social Security and Medicare and have only Social Security to live on upon retirement. Yes, this affects me in a very personal way. ANY cuts would be a critical issue for those in this situation.
