Specialty Shoe Retailers Essential

Allow specialty shoe retailers to operate with one client / per working sales staff at a time starting as of Monday May 4th 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of MO and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized & deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community.
Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask & gloves) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 20 or more people in a grocery store or 10 plus people at restaurants picking up food.

Why is this important?

Many people suffer from foot pain and other podiatrist related issues and need shoe support as their shoes begin to wear out. As a type of transportation walking/running should be considered an essential business as bicycle shops and other forms of transportation are. Also, first responders and other essential employees have no place to purchase shoes that help deter other foot related issues by wearing poor supportive shoes.
