To: The California State House and The California State Senate

Stop cutting funding for senior programs and reinstate funding that has been eliminated.

Seniors are being relegated to oblivion and we know this will not save California from its fiscal dilemma. Funds for senior programs are minimal and the consequences, when we become inactive and unable to have inexpensive help for emotional problems, will be much more expensive than the state is saving.

Why is this important?

I am a senior of 82 years and I have been in a yoga class for 3 years. It has helped my sore neck and shoulders so that I am no longer in pain.

Funding for senior programs has already been cut and are continuing to be cut so that very soon they will be eliminated. We are a growing population, paying taxes, and our population will continue to grow because we are living much longer than previously.

It will cost the state more money than they have gained. It will cost the state much money when we need doctors and hospitals because exercise and social programs are eliminated.
