PETITION TO END MASS DEPORTATIONS AND PROTECT FAMILIES

To: The President of the United States, Members of Congress, and Relevant Federal Officials

Our Request

We, the undersigned residents and community members, respectfully urge our federal government to reconsider policies and practices involving large-scale deportations and to pursue immigration enforcement approaches that protect families, uphold due process, and recognize the humanitarian impact of deportation on communities.

Mass deportations can have consequences that extend beyond the individuals being removed. Families may be separated, children may lose parents or caregivers, and communities can experience significant disruption.

We believe immigration laws should be enforced fairly and consistently while ensuring that individuals receive appropriate due process and that families and children are not unnecessarily placed in situations of hardship.

We Call For:

  • An end to indiscriminate or mass deportation practices that unnecessarily separate families.
  • Protection for children and families affected by immigration enforcement.
  • Meaningful consideration of individual circumstances before removal proceedings are finalized.
  • Fair and accessible due process for individuals facing deportation.
  • Policies that prioritize serious threats to public safety while avoiding unnecessary family separation.
  • Greater transparency regarding immigration enforcement practices and their effects on affected communities.
  • Expanded access to qualified legal assistance for individuals navigating immigration proceedings.
  • Humane treatment of all individuals throughout immigration enforcement and detention proceedings.
Our Statement

We recognize that the United States has immigration laws and that the government has a responsibility to enforce those laws. At the same time, enforcement should be carried out in a manner consistent with due process, human dignity, family unity, and the best interests of children.

We respectfully ask our elected and appointed officials to listen to the concerns of affected families and communities and to pursue immigration policies that balance lawful enforcement with compassion, fairness, and the protection of families.

Why is this important?

This is important because mass deportation can tear families apart and have lasting effects on children, parents, and entire communities. We believe immigration enforcement should be carried out fairly and humanely, with consideration for individual circumstances and the well-being of families. No family should have to live in constant fear of being separated from a loved one. This petition is a call for compassion, due process, and policies that protect families while addressing immigration concerns responsibly.
