Stop Racism and Misogyny in the US State Department
Our country was founded on the principles of life, liberty, justice, and happiness for all. Our government representatives were elected to serve all of us, not just a small segment. To appoint a man like Darren Beattie to a top role in the US State Department is in direct conflict to the principles upon which our nation was founded. To quote this man in October 2024, he stated “Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work. Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men."
This is unacceptable. We, as women and minorities, are more than capable of leadership positions. We certainly do not need to be coddled and have never been. We have had to fight for so much.
Men like Darren Beattie being the face of the United Stated in the State Department does not represent the large majority of our nation.

Why is this important?
By joining together and saying something, we can bring change for the better. As a mother, I taught my children that if they stand by while another child is being bullied, they are just as guilty. Silence gives approval. We as a nation cannot remain silent when we are being told we must support only White men. Women and people of color are the large majority of the United States. We should not and cannot be silenced.
