Stop Sen. McKoon’s extremist anti-immigrant bill
Georgia Lawmakers: Sen. McKoon’s bill to ban driver’s licenses for immigrants who are legally allowed to live and work in the United States must be stopped.
The bill, drafted by McKoon in partnership with radical anti-immigrant extremist D.A. King, would even block driver’s licenses for battered spouses, parents with seriously ill children and crime victims who are serving as witnesses in police investigations.
Elected officials should protect people’s rights, not try to strip them away.

Why is this important?
Sen. McKoon, wants to block access to driver’s licenses for immigrants who have been granted a humanitarian reprieve from deportation, including battered spouses, parents with seriously ill children and crime victims who are serving as witnesses in police investigations.
Under federal law, immigrants who have been granted deferred action status are legally allowed to live and work in the U.S., so there is absolutely no reason to block their access to legally obtaining driver’s licenses.
McKoon and anti-immigrant zealot D.A. King want to punish people by making it harder for them to take their child to the doctor, harder to get to court to testify against the person who harmed them and more difficult to provide for their families.
McKoon drafted the bill with the advice of anti-immigrant extremist D.A. King, who has been criticized by the Anti-Defamation League for his suggestion that undocumented immigrants are “not here to mow your lawn – they’re here to blow up your buildings and kill your children, and you, and me.” Mr. King has also asserted that the United States is “being invaded and colonized” by a “Mexican mob that brings with it a culture of lawlessness and chaos.”
Sen. McKoon’s anti-immigrant bill is unjust, unnecessary and a prime example of government overreach and discrimination.
Tell your lawmakers that Georgians won’t stand for extreme legislation designed to strip away people’s rights.
