Stop Speeding on Durham Ave in Metuchen from Main Street to Central Avenue
Vehicles exceed the posted speed limit of 25 mph on Durham Avenue between Main Street and Central Avenue in Metuchen, typically traveling at 30 to 45 mph, and sometimes higher.
The Campbell Elementary school, children, and pets reside on Durham Ave between Main Street and Central Avenue. We would like to take preventative action before the loss of life- animal and human. We propose the following;
1) A speed bump in front of the Campbell Elementary school
2) A four way stop sign at the intersection of Center Street and Durham Ave
3) A speed bump within the legal limit on Durham Ave between Martin Street and before the light on Central Ave.
