REPLACE THE TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE.
DON’T BUY INTO OUR GOVERNOR’S ASSERTION THAT NEW YORK’S POPULATION IS GROWING, thereby supporting the need for such an ambitious and staggeringly expensive project? We lost a congressional seat due to a shrinking population so why do we need a bigger bridge that will have massive adverse effects on our environment and neighborhoods.
HOW WILL THIS BE PAID FOR?
In a time when residents are fleeing NY, the most highly tax state in the union, when people are losing jobs and pensions because of massive budget deficits, the power brokers and special interest groups are trying to ram through a larger $5 to $15 billion replacement bridge that we can’t afford and do not need, to be paid for with borrowed funds, thereby giving rise to increased taxes for New York residents.
JOBS? “NOT ALL THE UNEMPLOYED ARE IN THE CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS.”
Jobs will be doled out to the lowest bidder, pulling most workers from out of state.
THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DETERMINED THE BRIDGE TO BE SAFE. Restoring the current bridge is our MOST AFFORDABLE OPTION with the LEAST NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT on our communities and the river.
THIS REPLACEMENT BRIDGE WILL SUBJECT RESIDENTS TO 5 to 10 YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION, WILL NOT IMPROVE TRAFFIC FLOW, and WILL REDUCE AIR QUALITY, ALREADY OUT OF COMPLIANCE WITH EPA STANDARDS, EVEN FURTHER.
RESIDENTS, WAKE UP, THE FIX IS IN! YOU CAN STOP IT.

Why is this important?
As a New York resident you are about to be saddled with an astronomical cost, via
increased taxes, and reduced quality of life due to more traffic jams, 5 to 10 or more years of noise, dust, increased air pollution, and inestimable environmental damage to the Hudson River, it’s aquatic life, and the surrounding communities.
The cause of all this: Our State Governor has embarked on a project to replace The Tappan Zee Bridge— a completely unnecessary, $5 to $10 billion or more undertaking, with an unbalanced state budget, borrowed funds and already strained public services.
