We must stop the Republican controlled state of Ohio House and Senate from implementing Stand Your Ground legislation.
Despite the threatened veto of Ohio's Republican Governor, they plan to override this veto and make this dangerous policy law.
Why is this important?
I am a black American male who was a police officer for 30 years. Historically America has been a killing field for my people for centuries. This legislation codifies the slaughter of young black men like Trayvon Martin by trigger happy bigoted individuals. Everyone in Ohio regardless of race or gender is endangered by this wild wild west policy that creates Smith and Wesson courage in the minds of reckless people. This is obviously a power move by the NRA over the objections and threatened veto of Republican Governor John Kasich.
