Stop the slaughterhouse in Washburn Co.
North Star Bison of Haugen has put in a rezone request to build a slaughter plant on County Highway D west of Birchwood, WI.
This happens to be right across the road from our home and right next to our neighbors, in the quiet, peaceful area we live in.
This brings potential for ground water/well pollution, health and environmental impacts, damage air quality, increased traffic in our rural area, possible future expansion, and many other problematic situations.
Our neighborhood is asking if anyone who lives within Washburn County to sign this petition in hopes that we can stop this from happening, if we all come together as a community to stop this!
Why is this important?
Ask yourself, would you want a slaughterhouse next to you home?
Bottom line is that this slaughterhouse/meat processing facility does not belong in a residential neighborhood. It is a commercial operation and belongs in a commercial setting.
