Students and Communities Against Oregon House Bill 3338

House Bill 3338 proposes to disarm police officers on the University of Oregon and Portland State University campuses. This petition will be sent to legislators encouraging them to keep our campuses safe, and keep our officers armed.

Why is this important?

As a student of the University of Oregon, I believe the only way to keep our campus safe is to keep our campus police armed. Chief Carmichael and the rest of UOPD are genuinely concerned about student safety, and this bill would inhibit them from quick action regarding emergency situations. If HB3338 passes, not only will students be subject to a lesser degree of safety, but the officers will be unable to properly defend themselves and faculty as well. Please help us by signing this petition to discourage the Oregon House of Representatives from passing HB3338.
