Install flashing warning lights on Lake Chabot Road before the crosswalk in both directions of traffic to alert drivers that there is a crosswalk ahead and to slow down.
Why is this important?
I am concerned for my safety, and the safety of others, when crossing Lake Chabot road in the crosswalk, in front of Lake Chabot Park. Cars speed when driving on Lake Chabot road, and often do not stop when someone is in the crosswalk. This has happened to me, others I know. I understand a woman was hit by a car this past June, and later died of her injuries.
