I propose we rid the terms of Widow/Widower from our official forms relating to death, and changing the term to Surviving Spouse
Why is this important?
I host a Dementia Support Group. All spouses that have lost their life partner struggled to check the box for Widow when they were filling out official documents. It added negativity to the already painful grieving process.
