Dear CEO Brian Cornell

Target had a stellar reputation for promoting diversity both in its merchandise and in its hiring practices.  This was the store where Michelle Obama famously shopped when Barack was the President.  You made an effort to hire LBGTQ people.  After George Floyd's murder you made a commitment to Black Americans to hire and promote them. Now, you are retreating from DEI.  DEI works because it creates a welcoming community for ALL people.  It creates a diverse work force that feels safe and has a positive impact on the work force.  https://lpsonline.sas.upenn.edu/features/dei-workplace-why-its-important-company-culture

Employers need to continue to hire with diversity in mind.  We need a work force that resembles our culture where all people feel safe.

He is the CEO of Target.  Last year Target removed Pride merchandise.  This year Target announced they are rolling back DEI.   Remember, this was the store of Michelle Obama.  This was also the store that theoretically had a good diversity reputation:
