To: Reince Priebus, Chairman of the Republican National Committee
Tell the RNC: Drop the hate!
Reince Priebus, as Chairman of the Republican National Committee, you have a moral obligation to denounce the hateful and racist language being used by several Republican Presidential Candidates, like Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and Ben Carson. We call upon you to take a strong and public stance against this bigotry by denouncing any candidate who targets immigrant communities for racist attacks as a way to appeal to voters, and by denying funding for their campaigns.
Why is this important?
The recent and anti-immigrant rhetoric spouted by some of the Republican presidential candidates is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Rather than promoting inclusion, many Republican candidates, such as Donald Trump and Jeb Bush, are fostering racist and xenophobic fears towards Latinos, Asian-Americans, and immigrants. This is creating a hostile and dangerous climate for immigrants and people of color, as evidenced by the recent beating of a homeless Latino man by Trump’s supporters. The Republican Party must stand for tolerant dialogue on these and other issues affecting Americans.
