Employees who work directly across from the Texas Capitol mall construction are suffering from serious health hazards. This project will take years, and the employees need alternative work environments to stay healthy. State agency employees want the option to work from home to avoid the construction dust, chemicals, silica, and more.
Why is this important?
People who work around the construction sites are suffering daily from what is now becoming chronic respiratory and autoimmune diseases. My loved ones and friends have developed severe, chronic coughs, bronchitis, and other upper respiratory disorders since the construction started. I have suffered migraines, severe allergies, and arthritic pain. We need an alternative work environment until the construction is over. Working remotely would solve the problem.
