The Only Solution to Our State's Budget Cuts

Oklahoma's lawmakers need to learn from Dr. Gupta and economist regarding medical marijuana. It is medicine for epilepsy, depression, chemotherapy symptoms, glaucoma, arthritis and severe pain. It is the natural alternative to opiates which can cause dependency and addiction. It is estimated that it could generate many millions in tax revenues, licensing and certification. Already the many states that have legalized it have seen an enormous economic growth. That would fix our lack of funds for education, health, jobs, farmers, and more.

Why is this important?

I want to see Oklahoma become a competitive state. Our state budget shortfalls are causing many serious problems for its citizens. I have suffered opiate addiction due to several surgeries in hospitals. It was so difficult for me to suffer withdrawal on my own, but I did. Now my doctors want to do three more surgeries but I won't comply. I'm also a retired school teacher. Our education stinks because of lack of funding. Its time to learn from Dr. Gupta and legalize this so that our state can fix its financial problems while offering relief to many who would benefit.
