A constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and get money out of politics has now advanced to the floor for debate. Senator Ayotte, I am concerned that you have not indicted your support.
Why is this important?
This amendment is the only way to reverse the WORST Supreme Court decision in history. (Is that an extreme statement? I don't think so.) Many have worked for years to make up for the damage - passing an amendment is extremely difficult, and rightly so. This is a critical step towards saving our democracy from the undue influence of money and corporate power.
The electoral process is NOT meant for people who are intent on using their wealth to buy members of Congress. You must choose to support this measure if you also think it is important, Senator.
