This is a Petition in regards to P-EBT food benefits

My name is Bertha Muzquiz and I am a mother of a 12 year old daughter and a one year old and I reside in Pharr, Texas. My petition is in regards to the P-EBT food benefits that have been given “only to children and young adults that attend a public school.” I am advocating for children just like mine, that are been homeschooled for various reasons and because they are homeschool they do not qualify or are eligible to benefit from the P-EBT program. I believe that it is unfair that because my kid and other children are not enrolled in a public school entity, they are not able to obtain the food benefits. Kids that are homeschooled need to eat too! Homeschooling a child doesn’t mean necessarily that the parents are wealthy or that we don’t struggle to make ends meet. In my case I had to withdraw my daughter due to all the bullying that she went through and for not been able to learn. I strongly believe that my child and other children that are in the same situation deserve and should be able to participate and benefit from the P-EBT program. I hope that this message gets reviewed by the right person. Thank you.
