The veil of secrecy surrounding the Trans-Pacific Partnership must be removed so that the public is informed of any drafts or agreements under negotiation and that they are open for review by all of the people impacted by it and not just the privileged few.
Why is this important?
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a trade agreement currently in negotiation with 11 countries including the United States. The TPP is cloaked in secrecy with a timetable targeting the end of this year. Based on what is known, however, it appears that the agreement essentially elevates large multinational corporations to the same level as a sovereign state and limits national and private citizen rights in favor of corporate rights.
