Truck Drivers Deserve Hazard Pay

Give Hazard Pay to Truck Drivers during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Why is this important?

Truck Driver's make it possible for each and every person on this list to receive Hazard pay, yet they are not considered important enough by the State of Vermont to be included to be paid Hazard pay during Covid-19.

1. a grocery store;
2. a pharmacy;
3. a retailer identified as essential in Executive Order 01-20 that is open to the general public for in-person sales (not just curbside pickup/delivery);
4. a wholesale distributor making deliveries to one of the retailers listed above;
5. a waste management service;
6. a janitorial service that provides cleaning services to another covered employer;
7. an assisted living residence;
8. a nursing home (includes employees of outside contractors that provide rehab services on behalf of nursing home);
9. a residential care home;
10. a therapeutic community residence;
11. a health care facility or doctor’s office;
12. a child care facility that is providing childcare to essential workers pursuant to Executive Order 01-20;
13. a vocational rehabilitation service provider;
14. a dentist’s office;
15. a homeless shelter;
16. a home health agency (includes employees of outside contractors that provide rehab services on behalf of agency);
17. a federally qualified health center, rural health clinic, or clinic for the uninsured;
18. a program licensed by DCF as a residential treatment program;
19. an ambulance/first responder service;
20. a funeral home or crematory establishment;
21. a provider of necessities/services to vulnerable or disadvantaged populations.

These men and women often have to share their vehicles with other employees and come into contact with numerous other individuals. They risk it all just so we can continue our daily lives.

Tell Governor Scott and Vermont Senate to support and pay our Truck Drivers Hazard Pay during this pandemic!
