U.S. Senators and Congress PLEASE PREVENT Consolidated Interim Storage (CIS) of nuclear waste in ...

On September 26, the U.S. House Subcommittee on Environment and Climate approved H.R. 2699, the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act of 2019. Last year's version, HR 3035, was stopped when the U.S. Senate did not act upon it. H.R. 2699 would reconsider the opening of a geologically unsuitable national repository at Yucca Mountain, by gutting its Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing proceeding., and would drastically increase the quantity of irradiated nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste that could be stored there. We oppose this measure and are asking our elected officials to do the same.

Why is this important?

Prevent H.R. 2699 from being approved by the U.S. Senate.
