Dear Mayor Adler and Austin City Council Members,
Please adhere to the Waterfront Overlay Ordinance and its 60-foot height limit. Vote NO on the proposed 110-foot office tower at 218 S. Lamar, aka current Schlotzky's site!
Why is this important?
The Butler Shores & Zilker Park communities want Austin City Council to adhere to the Waterfront Overlay Ordinance height limit of 60 feet. We are opposed to:
- the city granting an exception to the 60-foot height limit
- the city building an office tower at the expense of providing more housing choices
- the city accelerating displacement of existing businesses on Barton Springs Road
This is a neighborhood and is also the gateway to Zilker Park. The area is also set to become a Cultural Arts District with the relocation of the Dougherty Arts Center. Please say NO to anything in the area that exceeds the WOO height limit.
