VR Game Development Incentive [VALVE]
Proposal to Valve to cut the 30% marketplace fee imposed on game studios developing VR games down to 15% or 10%.
Reason Valve may benefit from this:
Will make VR development more profitable, increasing incentive for studios & indie developers to develop VR games. Increase market for VR games will increase consumer demand for Steam’s VR Headset - Steamframe.
Other incentives valve could run:
[PC games which have created dedicated VR conversions for their game to get boosted publicity & discounts for their game, where the cost of the discounts are covered by Valve].
[VR developers releasing restrictively on Steam’s platform could have fees decreased further 5%].

Why is this important?
VR development is not only hard but hard to turn a reasonable profit. This petition aims to resolve part of the profit problem VR games have.
This petition is aimed at Valve. Valve has the power to grow the VR market significantly by bringing a larger customer base with its new headset. However, the VR games market will likely not grow to a great enough extent to match consumer expectations due to its lower profitability.
I propose that Valve cuts their 30% cut for marketplace fees down to 15% for VR specific games. This gives VR studios the ability to spend more on their VR development & also incentivizes developers to develop VR as it will be more more profitable. In turn, this cut will grow the market for VR games.
