We want the CIH Waiver in Indiana to cover GPS devices for Autistic Individuals!

We, the parents and caregivers of Autistic individuals, and other concerned citizens want the safety of Autistic people to be of the most importance. By allowing GPS devices for Autistic individuals to be covered by the waiver, this will ensure that maximum independence can be had by them, without compromising their safety. Many Autistic people go missing every year, and many do not return safely. Please help us change this!

Why is this important?

I am the mother of an autistic son who likes to wonder off. I have tried to get help from the waiver, paying for a device that would keep track of where my son is at in case he wonders, and would also alert me if he got a certain distance away for his own safety. It would also allow him to do small things somewhat independently without sacrificing his safety. Many autistic individuals go missing and are harmed needlessly.
