Why Promote Unemployment?-Give Us Our Child Care Assistance Back!
To The Government Of Kentucky,
The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) has announced it will no longer be taking new applications for its program. Numerous families rely on this aid in order for them to continue working. Without it, they simply can't afford to pay full tuition costs for child care.
The program claims that their budget won't allow for the continuation of their services.
I believe that this could be worked out if enough thought is put into it. Instead of eliminating aid to families in need, the State should cut other spending or seek Federal financial help or assistance from other organizations. What they did instead is increase our unemployment rate by forcing many many parents that work for less than $16 an hour to quit their jobs. The State also will be pushing many day care centers out of business causing the loss of jobs to thousands of families.
Our voice must be heard and something's must be done about the issue, ask our State officials to give us our Child Care Assistant Program (CCAP) back immediately or we will be facing a huge rise in unemployment. Not only will parents be unable to work because of the inability to pay child care costs, but there will also be less children in daycares, which in turn will put thousands of daycare employees out of jobs.
