Wilda Diaz for US Senate

Progressives can make a statement, and they need to on incumbents in both parties who capitulate to the DC special interests and dark money groups. The stakes are just way too high.

Senator Cory Booker is known as one of the friendliest Wall Street Senators in Washington DC in both parties. He is a reliable ally for AIPAC. In 2017, he voted against importing drugs from Canada. Since his time as Mayor of Newark, up to even today, he backed the expansion of charter school networks all across the country despite their impact on public education and municipalities. He also has connections to private equity and venture capital through political acquaintances like Andy Moffit and former Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

Indeed, New Jersey has mixed reviews of its senior Senator, having backed Bob Menendez in his corruption trial up until recently, offered poor constituent services during his tenure, and was plagued in Newark by corruption, crime, and chaos.

New Jersey can have a more efficient and competent lawmaker in Mayor Wilda Diaz, who rebuilt Perth Amboy from the ashes of the 2008 Great Recession economically, and literally from the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Her work has garnered national praise from a variety of stakeholders, and she has been a vocal voice against political corruption in New Jersey.

She even was an early supporter of Bernie Sanders in his run (s) for President of the United States, proudly supporting his popular agenda outline.

Mayor Diaz would be a terrific Senator at a time when fearless leaders are needed to oppose Trump's agenda and take on the political and corporate establishment in Washington DC.

Why is this important?

New Jersey saw one of the strongest shifts to Donald Trump in 2024, partly on significant increases in support for Republicans among Hispanic & Latino, Asian American, Arab & Muslim American, and African American voters.
