The U.S. is negotiating with the Taliban to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan. Many Afghan women fear their rights will be denied by the Taliban once they are in power, or even sharing power. Women's rights are human rights, and can no longer be a secondary consideration. We demand that any agreement reached between the USA and the Taliban in Afghanistan include clearly stated human rights for women and mechanisms to enforce them.
Why is this important?
There are stories everyday about Afghani women being abused and even murdered for living the life they choose. This has to stop!
