Women's National Basketball Tournament Should be on Broadcast TV

Last year, U-Conn's women basketball team made history when they broke the single-game record by scoring 140 points in the first round of the national tournament. A majority of Americans aren't able to watch the Women's National Basketball Tournament because, unlike the men's tournament, the women's tournament is relegated to ESPN and ESPN U. The NCAA should renegotiate its broadcasting contracts to have both the Men's and Women's National Tournaments on broadcast TV.

Why is this important?

The Women's National Basketball Tournament should get the same coverage and exposure as the Men's National Basketball Tournament. There's no reason why the women's tournament games shouldn't be on broadcast TV like the men's.
