As workers and retirees who paid taxes to cover Social Security and Medicare we should not be considered as Americans looking for entitlements. Rather, we are Americans who, without any say so... had these taxes deducted before ever receiving our pay for all of our working years. These are our Worker Paid Benefits and should be treated as such. When President Obama, Democrats in the House and Senate debate Social Security and Medicare the language and talking points must be changed, The new words for "entitlements" are Worker Paid Benefits, then perhaps more Americans would get a better handle on what's at stake and be able to see the lies and tricks the Republicans are playing with our money.
Why is this important?
Social Security and Medicare are taxes paid by American workers. They should not be described as Entitlements. I'd like to see the Democrats change their talking points when it comes to debates over Social Security and medicare by calling them " Worker Paid Benefits
