Monroe County: Working mothers need child care!

Monroe County cut $1.3 million in childcare subsidies which mostly affect working mothers. Stop cutting funding to working mothers for childcare.

Why is this important?

I'm a working mother of 2 with a full-time job, but because I'm at 155% of the poverty rate I no longer qualify for assistance—even though someone who isn't working can get full childcare. Monroe County's child poverty rate in the past has ranked as the seventh highest in the U.S. When the need is greater, you're going to spend more money.
