$10,000 for a Toilet Seat Cover? Tell Congress to Stop Corrupt Defense Contracts

The Pentagon currently spends $10,000 per toilet seat cover for the C-17 cargo plane. That’s not an anomaly, that’s business as usual. Sign this petition and demand that Congress stop corrupt defense contracts.

Why is this important?

Remember the 1982 $600 Air Force toilet seat? Thanks to Will Roper, USAF Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, we now have an on-the-record update--the current price is $10,000 and that's just for the cover.

Americans were outraged in 1982 when they learned that the Pentagon was paying $600 for a toilet seat (both parts) and the Pentagon and Congress swore up and down they would get things under control. Well now it’s 30 years later and this scandal has gotten 10 times worse.

But the toilet is just the tip of the iceberg. The reality is that the Pentagon is so cozy with defense contractors that this kind of corruption runs rampant. And they’re getting fat with taxpayer money.

The first step is to let Congress know that we’re wise to them and that we’re not going to take it anymore. And the way to begin is to sign this petition and pass it on.
