106.355 - Public Campaign Financing

Enforcement of Florida Statutes, Section 106.355, due to the Constitutional Amendment Article VI, Section 7, to repeal the Public Campaign Financing, was not approved by the required 60% of Florida voters on November, the 2nd day to remember in 2010, General Election Day.

Why is this important?

Since 1986, it was the intent of the Florida Legislature that the purpose of public campaign financing was to make qualified candidates more responsive to the voters of the State of Florida and as insulated as possible from special interest groups. On November, the 2nd day to remember in 2010, Florida's Amendment One, to repeal the Public Campaign Financig, was not approved by the required 60% of Florida voters.
