I have been frustrated for years knowing that the oil companies are the reason there is no modern rail system in the USA.
It is criminal that we have no alternative to travel other than gas guzzling vehicles.
Republicans and Democrats both seem muzzled.
Florida scrapped network rail plan and more recently Wisconsin.
How can this be happening?

Why no move toward developing a national rail network?
Think of the jobs created building a rail system.
The Europeans and Asian governments not only don't allow the private interests to control their countries destinies they realize what is best for their people en masse : mass transit.
