40% reduction in Social Security Benefits is unfair.

People should not pay for full benefits and then lose 40% of their benefits under no circumstances. This law should be repealed rectroactive to its passing. Elected officials should also lose 40% of their benefits if the law remains in effect.

Why is this important?

Payroll deductions were taken from my salary at the applicable rate when I worked in Corporate America. The last 10 years of my employment before retiring were teaching with no SS deductions. Upon retiring, my SS benefits were reduced by 40%. My retirement benefits collectively are very meager and the 40% reduction does not leave me enough money to live on so I must continue to work even though I am over 70 years old.
