42% health insurance rate hike? Yikes!
Dear Oregon Insurance Commissioner Laura Cali:
With Oregon's economy just beginning to recover from the recession, large increases in health insurance premiums will create hardship for many Oregonians. Meanwhile, most of Oregon's health insurance companies are financially strong. Please make sure insurers aren't needlessly overestimating prices, and are doing all they can to cut wasteful health care costs.

Why is this important?
Some of Oregon’s biggest health insurers have proposed rate hikes as high as 42.7% for next year. I think they may be needlessly going to extremes, and some families may see thousands of dollars in additional premium costs a year as a result.
