We, the undersigned, would like to petition the South Huntington Board of Education to reinstate the Challenge Program, or a similar program to service the students who need further academic enrichment during the school day than the standard curriculum allows, should additional funds be reallocated to restore programs cut in previous years or programs proposed to be cut this year. We strongly believe that, as a school district dedicated to empowering children to maximize their potential, preserving academic programs should be a priority.
Why is this important?
The South Huntington Board of Education has the potential to restore the Challenge program in our schools that was lost during last year's budget process. We're calling on the Board of Education to reverse this cut and demonstrate that they value academics first and foremost in our schools. Please join us at the Board of Education meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 at Walt Whitman High School and let your voice be heard.
