We propose a Constitutional amendment to eliminate the Electoral College in the election of the President of the United States, to be replaced with a simple majority having full electoral force. The vote of every American should have equal value no matter where they reside in the United States.
Why is this important?
Abolishing the Electoral College will halt in large measure the rising tide of regionalism in the U.S. and assure that the vote of every American voter matter equally, no matter in which state they reside. With this antique mechanism gone, it also likely that potential electoral misconduct would be largely eliminated with the dissolution of the concept of the "swing state."
