A Graduation That Feels Like Home
The Spotsylvania County School Board should review the current graduation plans and allow each high school to petition to hold graduation at its home school. Students, parents, and staff should have a voice in the decision and work with school administrators to make home-school graduations possible.
Why is this important?
This issue is important because graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for students and their families. Our high schools are where we have spent the last four years learning, making memories, building relationships, and growing as students and people. Having graduation at our home school would make the ceremony more personal and meaningful because we would be celebrating in the place that was part of our journey. We also believe each school should have the opportunity to decide what works best for its students and families.
